Rinse & Repeat 1 August

Today was a very similar day to Thursday - market in the morning, pool in the afternoon and why not given the temperatures achieved today

The town was crowded during market time and slowly thinned out over the afternoon but never to the point that it was empty - let’s say less crowded!

The public pool is interesting to get into once you have paid the entrance fee. Firstly you go downstairs to a communal area where, it seems all you do is take off your footwear, then you walk through a foot wash paddling pool into an area where you can get changed, then into another area containing lockers, you then move on to the obligatory shower room before crossing another foot wash paddling pool and voila you can now enter the pool.

On the way to the pool there was an incident between an e-scooter and a couple - we didn’t see the incident but we certainly heard the aftermath as the man (won’t call him a gentleman) let rip loudly, to the point that people 50 or so metres away took notice and it ended with at least one punch being thrown before bystanders moved in.

Spent sometime at the Tabac trying to set up my phone on a French network to receive internet, cheaper than using Vodafone’s $7 per day roaming charge particularly when in a day it is actually $14 as Vodafone charging clicks over at midnight NZT which is 2pm our time. Have to say so far, despite the tabac assistant getting on the phone to the network’s help desk for some considerable time it was not a success - there is some setting on the iPhone that needs to be changed to get an internet connection but so far it has alluded me.

A selfie from after breakfast on the balcony.
