Bore, Boer or Boar?

Last night after coming back from our walk with Cachou we asked Jean-Paul the reason why all the properties had substantial fencing and in most cases concrete walls around them.
After he had consulted a French to English dictionary the response was to keep the wild boar out of the properties - we assume that it may be wild pigs but boar sounds more exciting!

This morning we “climbed” up to The Fortress - it is not an overstatement to say climbed because near the top the slope was more than 45 degrees but when we got there the view from the tower in the fortress was quite something, the tower being 425 feet above the road below.

Have a look at this video (right here)

On the walk down we passed a few other souls staggering up and their heaving chests would have had no trouble blowing out hundreds of candles just as ours would have earlier.

The church at the top of the village just before the start of the main climb was exceptionally attractive both inside and out

After lunch we drove to Bagnols sur Ceve, 12kms as the crow flies but as we aren’t crows it was closer to 25kms.

Today across France is a public holiday associated with the Catholic faith, the same day that closed down Toulon when we were in that area some years ago and not unexpectedly BsC was almost deserted though as we walked through it some of the wall art was quite appealing as was the Hotel de Ville (town hall).

We then moved onto Pont St-Esprit and frankly there was nothing to see there so after a quick walk it was back in the 3008 and a drive back to Le Chant des Cigales.

Kms driven today: 55
