A quiet day

Another scorcher here in Aix-en-Provence today - 32 now at 5pm but has been a couple of degrees hotter this afternoon.

Thursday here is market day (again) so we spent the morning walking among the crowds looking at various stalls, trying on various cheap garments and making a couple of purchases as well as buying some fruit and vegetables.

After lunch we walked to the local public pool (Piscine Yves Blanc) which is a short way out of the city, a pool complex which is reasonably new and well laid out but quite under-utilised if the numbers there this afternoon are typical. Like I struck in Beaune when we went to the public pool in 2015 a male cannot swim in boxer type togs but I was ready for that and had both boxers and speedos with me, so we overcame that hurdle without bother.

The main pool was 50m and there were a few fit bods swimming lengths while there was a smaller pool, shorter and shallower as well.

The pool environment gave the impression that top level swimming meets could be held here. After a relaxing and cooling swim we started the walk back to the accommodation stopping on the way for a coffee at a Columbus Cafe,  which is a similar coffee house to the likes of Starbucks.

Relaxing day completed

Kms driven today :0
