We were expecting a result....

...but not that one!

As the sun shone on the Lions so it also shone on us for the first time on the trip.

Watching the rugby was a bit like watching the Warriors where you see things that have an effect on the game yet is missed by the referee e.g. Knock on by the Lions missed by the ref but in the immediate play penalises the ABs and the Lions take 3 points.

The commentary we had was Stuart Barnes and Miles Henderson with comments by Sean Fitzpatrick but the TMO also was coming through loud and clear during the run of play and he was calling to the ref when the ref was dealing with the Vunipola smash on Barrett as the ref was about to give the yellow card but the TMO was asking him to have a look at the elbow to head which would have been a red however either the ref couldn't or didn't want to hear him.

How ironic is it that in the game after Garland accuses the ABs of foul play we have a dimwit red carded!

Packed up the 3008 after the game and left Cardiff for Tiverton a drive of 100 miles and we stopped at Taunton on the way.

Taunton was a bustling place with streets very busy around the middle of the day when we were there and it is also one of the host cities for the Women's Cricket World Cup

The trophy was on display in a delightful area which was surrounded by rather beautiful buildings

Back in the car we moved on to Tiverton where we had accommodation for the evening in a pleasant B&B.

After walking up through the village...

...and going back to the B&B for a short time we then drove to Bickleigh to have dinner at The Fishermans Cot, a pub that had been recommended to us by our host.

The drive out there was quite gorgeous along tree lined country roads, just wide enough for two vehicles to pass provided both drivers were hard against the left side and the Cot was fair bristling with patrons, some eating in the restaurant others drinking in the outside area overlooking the River Exe as it flowed with some speed under an old single lane stone bridge - the scene was very pleasant on the eye

Last evening we went to the movies and saw Hampstead which is being released in NZ later this month or next- it was a light film, perhaps a little weak in parts but also eminently watchable, we enjoyed!

Tomorrow we move on to Padstow for two nights to taste the delights at two of Rick Stein's restaurants.
