Steinsville

Today was another moving day as we headed further South West through Devon into Cornwall driving through what would typically be described as rolling countryside - it certainly made for a pleasant drive.

On route we stopped, randomly, at Okehampton and called into their Sunday market. It was held in a hall and all the stall holders sat behind their stalls and watched us, they couldn't be looking at anyone else but us as there was a paucity of shoppers, as we walked around. A couple of flapjacks for a future morning tea was the total of our purchases which might have helped that stall holder meet the £6 fee she was required to pay to have her stall.

Arrived at Padstow around 12.30 and ran into every man and his dog - the car park was full, you waited until someone left to get a park, the narrow streets in front of the shops were awash with people and their dogs and the cafes and restaurants were bursting at the seams.

While it is an attractive seaside town to visit in its own right, according to our host for the next two days the majority of visitors, just like us, come to eat at one of Rick Steins 6 food outlets- he also has a cookery school and 6 different accommodation places. It is well named as Steinsville!

We have two nights in town and once again we have scored ourselves very delightful accommodation in a B&B 10 minutes walk from the waterfront though I suspect it may take 20 minutes to walk back again as it is all uphill👎🏽👎🏽

Our means of travel on this trip is the following 2017 Peugeot 3008 SUV (not yet released in NZ) - it has everything we want perhaps with the exception of a chauffeur!!!👨🏻‍✈️
