Memorable +

To complete our day we went to a restaurant for dinner

Valencia is the home of paella so we ordered paella for our meal, as the restaurant advertised authentic paella - you can imagine our surprise when we saw them spoon some paella onto two plates from a large paella pan in the window of the restaurant. Typically paella is cooked when required and the rice is allowed to crust in the pan and the diner scrapes the pan to obtain all the flavours.

Some 5 or so minutes later the paella was placed in front of us - cold, so it was returned to be heated.

It was returned again 5 or so later with apologies but it was still no more than luke warm so was rejected again.

After a further wait it came back for the third time this time the waiter was adamant that it was hot, it wasn't so back it went.

As we waited for its return we decided that if it came back still not hot we were going to walk out.

As we waited the power went down in the restaurant for a few seconds and the waiter came over and explained in broken English that there was an issue heating the food so we told him we would go and find a meal elsewhere, which we did in a Japanese restaurant nearby.

As we walked around after dinner we saw a TV in a restaurant broadcasting details of the terror attack that had occurred in Barcelona today.

So sad!
